No. My mom never got a driver's license. Neither did the billions before cars where thrust on us as a necessity.
I lived in NY for some time. There is a vast number there that do not have a driver's license.

Save shame for something really bad. Then it will truly count.

When I got my drivers license it was a big day. I think every adult 18+ should have a DL. It looks better when applying for a job, it’s a form of ID, and it’sa major step in life.

I wouldn’t say ashamed… but if you live in America you're extremely limiting your movement and options. I can’t imagine not being able to get in my car and driving somewhere at the drop of a hat.

If you live in a big city where driving is a big ass pain then now. Live in the country with no public transportation then it can become an issue.

There are a lot of people who don't drive so don't feel bad, I never got my driver's license due to being on a lot of medications. (( Hugs ))

I know a few people like that. Not uncommon. If you don't need one or want one, can't afford to drive, lots of reasons for this. Not a big deal.
