I think I might have made a mistake lol
So this guy wanted to date me for about a month and a few days ago we finally had the conversation where I told him it’d be better if we stayed friends.
The only problem is now I think I want to be more but I doubt he’ll be interested anymore
Should I tell him or keep it to myself?

Tell him, generally his attraction to you hasn't changed. Now if this conversation on you being in a relationship or friend happened longer ago I'd caution you because he may have found a girlfriend, but it's unlikely he was pursuing you and then a few days after you essentially rejected him, he found a new girl. Tell him you want to be more than friends now, because if you wait too long he will probably find another girl.

I’m mainly worried that he’ll get mad at me for pushing his emotions around. He said we could stay friends when we talked the first time but his messages feel like their covered with salt

If he gets mad that’s just how he emotionally handled your communication. But it’s better to be honest and tell him you want to be more than friends. Just let him know you thought about it and feel a romantic connection.

Just be honest with him, and tell him you've realised you've made a mistake in wanting to just stay friends. If anything, he'll appreciate your honesty.
If you're worried he's going to be upset with you, I doubt he will be. If he wanted a relationship with you, his feelings aren't going to change that much over a few days.
