Having sex with others until you're 'exclusive'?

Is it just me who finds it hard to get my head around the fact it should be accectable and normal/modern dating behaviour that you can have sex with multiple people, whilst 'dating' ( messaging, expressing an interest, going on dates, seeing if a relationship is on the cards) someone? I feel 'cheated' on and I can't accept that this person is interested/likes me if they can easily do that whilst expressing an interest in me. It's like this is now 'how it is' in modern dating and I find it horrifying... Am I the only one?

I think this comes with the thought of wasting time. Society has changed months from what people have been told about the older days or what people have ventured through with the older days which called for a different level of romancing a different level of courting and a different way of showing interest. I think a lot of times again people don't like to waste their time so if they only considering one factor that you're dating them they are untrusting in the fact that you're only dating them especially if a woman is able to date multiple individuals or a man is what is 110 to sit on the hands waiting to be chosen if they can be pushed aside because the person that they thought would be a great significant mate or other , shows otherwise?

I used to, but that was back in the 70s and 80s, things were different then, it was what you did for fun.
