Why are some people so against dating outside their race?

I would date a man of any race as long as he is well behaved and has the qualities I am looking for in a partner. Biologically speaking, EVERYONE is mixed. Nobody is “pure” something.

It is only racist to have a preference if their preference has some racist undertones to it. Women/men of any race can be attractive. To reject a whole race and claiming that they do not find every single man or woman of that race attractive is fishy, but everyone has the right to date whomever they want to.

Where I live, racism is rampant, but many people are ignorant and do not pay much attention to their behavior. My family believes in “sticking to one’s own race”… but ironically, most of my uncles and aunts have married out of our race.

In the future, I wouldn’t care if my family rejects my partner, as long as it is not for superficial reasons such as race.

A lot of these people who refuse to date other people of other races even if they find them attractive are in their 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s. They were brought up in a different generation with a different set of values, so their mindset is different.

Also, the way they were raised also plays a huge role. Their family members might have said some despicable things about other races which might have influenced their impressionable mind. Bad experiences also play a part. However, it is important to use your self awareness and logical thinking and learn not to generalize everyone or judge someone based on stereotypes

If you asked me at 22, I would tell you I’d only date blond men with blue eyes.

That year I met an Asian guy who blew my mind, and made me a better person, valuing more in people than just their eyes and hair color.

So, now limiting myself to just one race doesn’t sound as appealing as before. Because world is such a diverse place and I would hate to miss a possibility of being with my Asian man who used to make me the happiest woman in the world.

I once knew a Hispanic man that had a thing for blonde white women. We would go to bars and he would look for any blonde white women and then take her to his house. Eventually, he took home the wrong blonde white woman who was engaged to a white supremacist. This poor man was deported because the white supremacist had connections in law and came from a rich family involved in politics. The last time I spoke with him, he was living in Mexico married to a Mexican girl and he told me he doesn’t mess around with blonde white women anymore.

I have no idea. But being a racist and having preferences are TWO different things. Lets say hypothetically I love blondes or I love brunettes the most. Alright. Does not mean I think one is superior or inferior then the other. Same as being with race.

I personally am not like that. Some people do though have preferences on race as they do with eye color and hair color and with height. Does NOT mean that you think those people are less of a person

I don't know. My stepdad says that he will never date aisan woman, I told him that that was very racist, and he rolled his eyes.
