Do you have anything against people dating outside their race/ethnicity?

So I told my coworker who has a crush on me that I’m dating my current girlfriend just so she doesn’t get her hopes up in trying so hard for me. I feel like it’s better that way, because I don’t want to lead her on, and she wanted to see her picture. She made me kind of upset. Saying “Oh, you’re into white girls.” Because we’re both Hispanic. And it made it seem like she was talking down on me when talking about it. And she tried telling me this story about this Hispanic guy dating this white girl, and her treating him like trash. I just didn’t say anything because it hurt my feelings. So I told her that, I don’t have a type. I just date a girl who I find is beautiful inside and out. And told her I dated lots of races and ethnicities. And she got quiet.

I'm middle eastern living in Europe and I too have dated girls from all across the ethnic spectrum, it's such a pointless metric to factor in. People are people. Sure if a person fits a bad stereotype they are a bad person but there's no version of this where it's ok to have prejudice just by ethnicity.

Funny thing is if the girl wasn't white this wouldn't even be a conversation she would be labled a racist period. But somehow the west has decided that hating on white people is ok.

I’m Hispanic also and a girl told me about this once. What happened to her was that her boyfriend left her for a white girl with blue eyes, blonde hair. So it made her hate white girls after that point. She would work at Starbucks and would purposely mess up a girls order if they were white on purpose just for them being white.
She would also discourage her nephews from dating white girls calling them ugly and a lot of hateful stuff that I won’t repeat here. The only reason I know so much about this is because I was super close to her and she was my best friend. I’ve known her since she was literally 8 years old. I’ve known her all my life and she gets jealous over it.

Their is no issue with it but I also get it some people are offended by a persons preference out of jealousy or a deep seeded hatred or even racial stigma in the end you should be able to love a person for who they are and not the color of their skin.

Some people get very jealous about their race dating other races.

I'm White and was married to a Native woman. When you're White jealous people say you have a "Fetish" any time you date a woman of color.

She was just feeling competitive and jealous. She wanted to discredit your relationship because it pissed her off. Don't take it too personally.

I think I understand.
It's very hurtful when you love somebody and other people try to make you feel guilty about it like you're doing something wrong.
I felt that way when I used to date Asian women and then I would see people online using derogatory terms like "Yellow fever' and "Asian fetish" to shame White guys who were in relationships with Asians. It really pissed me off.
I imagine that you feel hurt and that's what your coworker wanted.
I'm sorry she got you, she really is just likely jealous and bitter.

I actually did when I was younger. I was fed with bullshit like this will the be the end of white people! After I grew up, I found that girlies no matter tone or nationality have some great features :) The biggest hurdle is their family..
