Why can looks deceive us?

I think it’s because it’s the first thing the human eye notices and it’s easy to judge by looks. If I could judge a book by it’s cover then so can everyone else. But to me looks still matter regardless. Looks just aren’t everything.

I hate it when people say don’t matter at all. That’s a lie. Looks just aren’t everything whereas personality isn’t everything. Looks matter to me regardless of personality.

But among younger generations, looks fade far slower. This is because people now usually tend to take better care of themselves than past generations. It's not a coincidence that the middle aged adults of yesterday look like seniors of today. Obviously people also intentionally made themselves look older back then too.

For a romantic relationship to form, looks do matter for over 99% of the human race. If there's no sexual attraction, then there cannot be any romance.

That is why mother nature made us look good when we are/were young, otherwise there would be a lot more single people in the world!
