When a guy you like doesn’t message back for days?

A guy I’m getting to know and he knows I like him.. is currently not messaging me back for about 9 days..! Is this a sign not to have high hopes with him and that he is not interested? I wonder if this is his way a silence to make me realize he doesn’t like me.
I’m sad I thought things were going ok and we are so similar both introverts etc
We have been knowing each other for 2 years I recently told him I like him. He says he likes me to, but due to his job he is currently away

He messaged me today and called but I was sleeping 🤦‍♀️ so I didn’t pick up after my job will call him.
But he messaged saying this

“ I’m so sorry not replying you back for 1 week, you know my grandmother died last month month , my grandfather passed away too.. and I was at my parents house. I know you have big exams to take and I didn’t want to worry you. Have have you been are you ok?”

I guess maybe that’s why he didn’t contact me for so many days

You’ve known this guy for 2 years, let me ask you, is this common behavior from him towards you? If it is because he is busy with work, then you should give him some space to deal with his work. If it’s not his common behavior and has not text you in 9 days, sadly you might not be his priority and never felt the same way about you because if he did, then he should’ve been the one expressing his feelings. Either way, the only thing I suggest you do is to not make assumptions and let him be the one approaching you. You already did your part by being vulnerable. Good luck dear!

He contacted me back saying about his grandfather passing away! And that he is sorry he didn’t contact me for so many days. It’s not very common for him to stay quite for so long up to 7-10 days maybe 3-4 and that’s because we are both introverts and we are cool with it and he has good reasons. Also me too I have reasons because I’m doing my MS.

Yep take ghosting as a indication they aren't interested in you. Don't give up your hopes of finding a partner. Take time to grieve and move on. He isn't worth the time waiting and fighting for.

You should not assume that. In the end you said it is his job, who knows maybe his nature of job is such that he genuinely doesn't get enough time to talk to you. Like who knows maybe he works at night and then gets up early to go to work again meaning he will be too tired to talk to you properly.

Maybe he is waiting for some free time or off day and then he will talk to you.

This is one possibility I am saying. That being said, yes generally if a man doesn't talk to you, doesn't not text you for 10 days or more then it is a sign of not being interested. Yes.

I always make sure to reply quickly as much as possible if my internet doesn't interrupt or if I'm not super busy. Still I'd try to reply within 24 hours.

I love chatting and texting a lot actually. If a girl doesn't text me back within 3 days I'd assume she lost interest and I'd move on...

Plenty of girls have ghosted me already. I know this is disturbing thing.

Um 3 days is my limit if he doesn't reply within 3 days I would just move on. I think in your case he's not that interested. Better to move on.
