It won't do them any harm. It just upsets some parents because they don't know how to answer their child questions, or would rather not think about it. To me it's simple. "Why is that person doing/wearing that?" "Some people like that, the same way you like some things and not others."

It certainly won't change their sexual orientation. If they are gay, it will make them realize they aren't the only one, and that's a good thing.

It used to be common for children to see animals copulating, and presumably people too since few families were wealthy enough to have multi-room houses. The notion that children should be kept ignorant of sexual behavior is relatively recent.
