The guy I'm talking to says bad stuff about himself what should I do to help?

He says sometimes he feel worthless and depressed. I think it's becuase girls don't fancy him and he didn't have many girlfriend in the past. But why does he say this he's very successful in engineering

Encourage him to talk to his doctor and seek a therapist reference, and possibly a diagnosis.

You're not a therapist, and he is an adult. It is his own duty to himself to get the help he needs to heal and grow.

Maybe he had big delusions in the past, I can relate with him since I feel the same and I stopped dating for this reason. He has you so maybe he can change but the only help you can give him is your support and, if you’re interested in him, you can speak to him directly, explaining your intentions. This can make him change his perspective in himself.

I guess people want to feel wanted and he never. He probably feels he missed out on sex etc
