No, I'm sorry.
Maybe a lightly depressed person, but not a heavily depressed one. I know from experience that a slighty depressed person can benefit from a relationship, alongside naturally a path of professional help and therapy.
However, a relationship with a heavily depressed person will be a drain on both the depressed person and their partner, and things can only get worse.
A heavily depressed person first needs professional help; followed by constant support from a friend and family network.
Depression doesn't magically go away; but once a heavily depressed person improves to the point they can gradually manage their depression (naturally always with support); then they can try and find happiness in a relationship.
It depends.
I'm mentally ill, too, with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. So I understand there's a management aspect at play.
If they are managing their depression and can function and thrive despite it, I will consider it.
If they cannot or do not manage it - ON THEIR OWN (aka I've played mother to two white manchildren and I'm never dating straight white cis man again) - then no. I will not date that person.
But if they manage it and most of the time can do so on their own, I'm happy to date them.
The big thing for me is they have to manage it. That means taking meds, being in charge of their own appointments, going to therapy, reducing things that harm their mental health, and making an effort every day to manage their mental health.
I'm busy doing that for my own mental health. I'll help and support them when they need it, as I expect them to do for me, but primarily they need to own that part of them.
I was going to say no but then I realize I have dated depressed people... I guess people think it means 24/7 donkey from pooh lol.. but that's not how depression works does it? I guess they tend to hide it sometimes...
I wouldn't want to know anybody who commits suicide... but maybe I can show them I accept it's okay to not always be happy... there are different types of depression, yeah?
Depression is hard to understand and maybe different for all.
All I have to say is look at Wim Hoff.
I don’t think anyone who’s depressed should be looking for a relationship. It’s not healthy. And if you find someone who is going through depression but also wants to date you, you gotta give it to that person straight and tell them why that isn’t a good idea.

If someone is clinically depressed they won't want to date, No. 1. If they got enough energy to get out the door, they'd be poor company: morose and silent.
Best to support their efforts to solve their depression problems through therapy and perhaps some anti depressants. This will take a few months, at best. But you'd have to come to some kind of agreement.
If they're going to do NOTHING about their depression, you should look elsewhere.
No. Its not my job to fix them and they shouldn't even be putting themselves on the dating market.
Get your life in order before you cause undue stress and worry to someone else you claim to love because you thought fixing your problems would be too hard.
Mild depression, yes because she can heal rather quickly from that and live healthy.
A person seriously depressed will pose a lot of negative energy and mental health instability and I wouldn't desire to deal with that on a regular bases, so no.
I'd try to talk to her about what she was depressed about. Then I'd try my best to cheer her up and get her in a better mood so I can see her real personality. At that point, if we clicked, yes I'd date her. People get depressed all the time.
Yea they need a lot of love and support. Long as she was a good person with a good heart. Long as she treated me well. Yea I would. I figure they need someone the most anyways
and if that's your photo then those eyes really do look in pain sorry
very beautiful though like hazel just it looks like there is a lot of pain
oh I see. Yea she does kind of look depressed. Sorry you feel so bad
Honestly, I'd prefer it. At least SHE would get how messed up society is. We can be co-depressed.
Sure, pussy is pussy.
But depressed pussy can be hard work to get into a good mood at times.
Last thing someone whose depressed needs is to be used for sex.
Nah. Already had a situation with someone depressed and it's like cat and a dog. We can't be friends, let alone together on a date
If they're working on it and looking for love, yes. If they're only looking for support, someone who "saves them", who's literally always there and helps them with everything, no, that's not a healthy relationship, that would drown me.
Now what good would 2 depressed people be for eachother.
I a, m pretty depressed these days myself so I guess I would. Misery loves company/
Possibly but I’m kinda depressed myself and I don't know if that combo would be good. I like girls with lots of energy for the most part but I’m sure plenty of guys would
Yes, I would date a girl who suffers from depression
It would depend on what she’s depressed about. There’s only so much I could do for her before she needs a professional.
That's old hat for me, I want to try dating an optimist!
It depends on the rate of his depression 🤔🤔🤔 I wouldn’t let that get to me. ❌
Preferably not. Sometimes it happens though and you work through it together.
I am a depressed person and my girlfriend is a depressed person and I have to say I love her with all my heart so my answer would be a whopping yes!
Depends on why she is depressed and how depressed she is. If i can't cheer her up, then i'll feel useless.
I'm leaning towards yes.
I have before but I like more upbeat people that have a good positive outlook that are motivated
I mean I’m open to anything HAHA sure
if that’s u 🔥
It depends if we can work on the relationship together
I think they’d have to be taking steps to overcome the depression at least
Yeah would be hypocritical not to really
I guess it mean no
It means yes
No, I value my mental health too much
Not unless they had taken steps to help themself
Not like I'm any better lmao
Only if I see that she wants to be helped.
No I'm a ray of sunshine LoL
Yea but you could always share that with someone maybe not dating but
Nope. They need to work on themselves first.
If I could help her out of it
No, that would be a real downer.
Nope.
To be honest I would
Absolutely
No thanks
Nope lol
No thanks
