How do I get this guy I like to like me back?

So... long story short...

I feel like he hates me sometimes, but then other times, I get hints that he likes me. In robotics class, we were sent outside to work together, and we had a lot of fun, we have a little competition going on, to see who is better. When we were on a school trip together, he gave me advice on crushes and love, and I felt really connected to him. I am just so confused. He gives me that look sometime, the confused look, and I don't know what to make of it. I've tried being myself, but honestly boys are a puzzle wrapped in an enigma. What do i do?

Maybe my advice is too much but it has always worked for me. Just be honest and vulnerable with him. If you like him, start paying him compliments about his personality and things he does. If you see he reacts positively towards you, just tell him how you feel about him and that you like him. But you gotta be sure about your feelings
