Should I be suspicious of this comment?

Today while me and my boyfriend were chatting he told me that he hopes we get married if we do not meet other or break up completely. I asked why he thinks we would meet other people and he told me that it's because I would be graduating and working earlier than him (he failed a few classes). Should I be suspicious of this remark? Or am I being too delusional?

I think it makes no sense how he worded it to you if he would like to marry you someday. I don't think it's suspicious, there might be insecurity?

If you both are honest and faithful to not meet other people but said the above, he might have a trust issue.
