I burn their photographs and love letters of her's thus as a phoenix I can rise from the ashes of the past a new. I delete our text history and if necessary I block them on all apps.
I let my feelings die naturally overtime as I retrain my brains to dissociate certain places and songs that remind me of my ex.
I confess however that even after 7 years the smell of her perfume still sends shivers down my spine a longing for those bright days. Sadly it's the happy memories that are the most painful.
Nostalgia is a liar only recalling and magnifying the good times while ignoring the events that brought you here.
