Do guys just joke about getting married without meaning it?

So i ( 27 ) have been dating this guy (26 ) for a few months and it's going well. He always says he wants to get married and wants to have kids. He wants to be a young dad. He'll just randomly use the the word " my wife " with me during conversations. He will make reference to " when we have kids..." , and he constantly reminds me he's fully committed, because I'm hesitant because 1, I've been burned so bad in the past I have major trust issues 2, I always get scared that he'll just become an asshole someday eventhough he's done nothing wrong 3, he's 1 year younger than me. So guys I would really like your opinion as to what he's really thinking?

Nobody can read his mind for you and explain what he really means or thinks although if u are this insecure I honestly don't know if u should be in a relationship in the first place as this level of distrust and overthinking can sabotage a relationship anyway
