So my summer bae of like almost 3 years and I have never made it official. I'm fine with that. But... we enjoy each other, we are both extroverts, we been close for almost 3 years.

The rules are changing, when he would decline holidays with me, he now invites me (to fly home with him), he even was even rehearsing what he would say to my mom. I have spoken with his. I've hung with his brothers and cousins.

Since a year ago (trip to vegas) he's been talking about eloping. As recent as this week when i suggested a trip to Mexico. (He found his passport)

I know all too well to take him seriously, guys joke about marriage right?

I have Joked about marriage but I wasn't three years in a relationship when saying that now let me get this straight he said he wants to marry you his family knows that he wants to marry you and the only one that doesn't know is your mother or your family? Do you think you'll get back what you give as far as love and things that you do for each other. Not scaring you and you got to try to make things work with someone that you love but everybody but everybody that I've known we're happy for years before taking their vowels. people that where 5 ,7 even 11 years In relationships get married and absolutely literally hate each other Within 2 years and divorced but outside looking in it's usually because one or the other wants them to change something maybe bad habits drugs or whatever but the time they've been together things were fine so over time has to sneak around and lie and and that's how it starts. And while I'm on the subject of Lies it's better to tell the truth let the other person have a decision doesn't matter what the truth is bad or good the other will respect you more it goes father with me but truthful people like a needle in the haystack but someone wins the lottery every once in awhile

Hmmm, I'm not very sure whether men joke about marriage but getting divorced and having half of your personal belongings being taken by force to the Ex spouse is not a joke nor a laughing matter. And to avoid this risk we treat marriage as a high risk no reward one way ticket.

I mean. I don't really care about marriage. I'm the result of two creatures that got divorced later on after raising me for awhile, so I don't know if I trust the idea of marriage. But both me and my boyfriend have been joking about marriage since before we started dating and it's kinda fun and cute in it's own way. Only time I don't like it, is when he gets down on one knee and pretends to propose. That's too real for me.

We do joke about marriage.. you know the show Friends? they make a lot of jokes about Marriage.. but in reality, us guys don’t make the same jokes as the same ones on the show..

It’s more on the lines of what if it doesn’t workout.. or divorce.. child support.. alimony..

Yeah we do sometimes but only if we're feeling very casual about it and not pressured, which is a good thing. It's overall very, very rare-- UNLESS we have literally no interest at all in the girl whatsoever, like if she is truly just a friend and we are not attracted to her in any way. In that case we may joke about it sometimes but even then it's still pretty rare.
