I need opinions on this pls, dunno how to take it?

There's this guy, we've known and liked each other since high school up till now, he asked me out long ago , told him i wasn't ready for a relationship , gave him my reasons too... And we've been cool since then

Recently found out a close friend of mine asked him out and they've been dating for months now, with the fact he was sending mixed signals and always confessing his love to me even while dating, but I wasn't aware... When i found out, he begged me not to avoid him, and would love if nothing changed between us, i don't know what to do, or how to feel...

Yes, i didn't accept when he asked me out but i still love him a lot... does he still love me? Should i move on or stay friends with this mixed feelings? I'm really happy for them but don't know how to feel hearing all this...

It is obvious that he still cares for you but he is fed up waiting for you to change your mind or to confess your feelings to him.

He decided to try his luck with someone else but is still infatuated in you. I personally don't think this relation will last long because you have not given him a clear signal that you definitely don't want to have anything to do with him. As long as he is uncertain, he will never be fully happy with someone else.

You owe it not only to yourself but also to him to make things clear once and for all. Either you tell him to forget about you so that he can draw a final line over this failed relation or you tell him your feelings.

If you are uncertain yourself, then you simply tell him that he should not waste his time hoping for a change in your behavior and that he should not put his hopes that anything will ever be different.
