I could try... I can be as silent and sneaky as a cat ninja
what are the actual effects of this though?
do you get migraines? or is it more like anxiety, panic attacks?
Both & more. Since I have anxiety & hyperacusis, they both make each other worse. I don't let it get to the point of migraines because I protect my ears, but I always feel discomfort from everyday sounds. And I often get panic attacks from noise. The feeling is similar to when something chaotic is happening to a person who is extremely tired & irritable.
So, any sound in an extremely quiet environment will give me discomfort if there isn't an adequate amount of compensatory ambient noise floor. And though my right ear is more sensitive than my left, any sound in a normal environment with a broad dynamic spike (especially around 5khz+) will give me extreme discomfort. In other words, I have pain & loudness hyperacusis.
I have to constantly wear hearing protection. And when in extremely quiet environments, I have to play noise through my headphones to create a noise floor. Otherwise, I'll experience severe discomfort in my brain.
I only date people with hyperacusis. I am yet to find someone with the condition, hence this explains why I am currently not dating anyone
bruh really out here typing in all caps 👄
That would be hard.. I LOVE concerts. That's my stress relief. I just saw Nelly and Ginuwine! Idc if I'm smooshed in a crowd of a ton of people, just the music is awesome!
Nah. I like to blast music extremely loud when waking up or before bed
