Why doesn't my friends approve of my boyfriend?

he's very successful as he has just finished his PhD in engineering and he's in great shape. But he is slightly nerdy and I'm thinking nthats why my friends approve

I had a woman friend who was very smart, when to two different Ivy league schools (for BA and MS degrees). Then she met a guy who was half an idiot. Not only could he not open his mouth and speak, he had not accomplished anything in his life. However, my friend was happy with him even though most of us that the husband was far beneath her. They have been married a long time, happily. People get together for strange reasons. Rachel Maddow is a successful television personality and well educated woman but she is happily partnered with a woman who is a carpenter.

For me, some people just give me a bad vibe. Like my friend had a boyfriend and none of us could hardly stand being around him, like the air seizing up with him in there, but her new boyfriend is super cool and easy to talk to🤷‍♂️ Some people just don’t mix
