I voted yes though I can see where you´re coming from. The issue is the following that before I became Christian I´ve been a man that means that I have the same urges as many other so called secular guys but I have to find other ways to please those urges.

I think there is some fellacy to the idea that Christians shouldn´t go by looks because that would mean that they should date and marry someone they might not be physically attracted to. But Christianity puts also a high importance on the family and it puts a high significance in avoiding divorce.

Those two would be main counter arguments if you really value those two you can´t ignore physical appearance because chances are high that at one point of your life you meet a girl that is more beautiful than your wife according beauty standards. That situation asks for your decision: Do you stay or do you leave? If you married a wife that you´re not attracted to the chance of you leaving after all those years is way higher.

I think it´s naive that being Christian makes you ignore a person´s physical attractiveness because it ignores what the Christian meaning of relationship is. We live in the world that is dominated by looks and perfection.

Yes you could lower your expectations of looks and you should probably not follow the world´s partly idiotic and idealistic beauty standards but that doesn´t mean that it´s a good idea if Christians started to ignore beauty aspects completely.
