Why is it bad to date a desperate guy/girl?

Honestly, Im currently dating a guy and he's wonderful. We have a lot in common, he's hadsome, sweet, funny, and very giving. But I do know that when we met he was a bit desperate for a relationship. He did cling to me in the beginning, but I have since gotten used to it and its nice.

Is it really bad to date someone who is desperate to date you?

I personally don’t prefer it because the one guy I went on dates with a couple months ago was like this and sometimes they will disregard your boundaries because of how they view and want the relationship to be, instead of accepting it for what it is and moving on if it’s not for them. Desperation comes from self esteem issues and possible codependency issues

Because desperate people will settle for anything they can get their hands on, then either leave or be bitter when someone they think is better comes along.

I do not think so. Have you ever read Ephesians 5 where role of Relationship is defined for men and women. Some people refer to "Clingy" as what Eph 5 says to do. Clingy is such an overused word and often connected to creepy or simp.

It seems like he assigns you high Value. This is good, right? What's another word... besides clingy to describe your dynamic?

Depends how desperate and how it presents, TBH. Their enthusiasm can be too much to take sometimes.
