Why would a guy only want to hook up with a girl but not date her?

He would go to her for emotional support and fuck her if she gives him a chance. But won’t date her. Why?

Potentially a variety of reasons that are individual to the man in question.
1. Maybe he doesn't find the woman attractive enough to date, but she's willing to put out so he's just there for sex.
2. She's not relationship material. Maybe she's too insecure or clingy. Maybe she's not very mature and isn't on an equal level as him. Maybe he wants someone that's better with money. The list could go on, but basically, she isn't what he's looking for.
3. He has commitment issues.
4. Could be more reasons, but I don't really care to think of more.

I don't know him or have anyone who does those 3 things combined so it's hard to tell. I can't have sex with someone unless we are in a loving relationship. Some guys might like just hookup instead of relationships

What really confuses me is emotional support is usually wanting relationship so only he will know the answer. Maybe just ask him?
