I think it was too harsh and mean. I think there are nicer ways to tell a person you don’t find them attractive without calling them ugly and shrek.

Instead I wish this person wrote to something like “You are not my type” or “I don’t find you attractive but another person might.”

Have you considered the possibility that the user might have also been trolling? Some people are just impolite and have no sense of etiquette, decorum and kindness. Don’t take their words into account. As the old adage goes, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. One man’s silver is another man’s gold.

Just because someone considers you a “silver” does not mean that nobody would consider you gold. I’m sure you don’t look bad. I’m just concerned that you feel the need to seek validation from strangers on the internet. It shows that you’re anxious about your appearance. Please develop more self confidence and start loving yourself for who you are. There is always going to be someone who would judge you or be rude to you, but you have to learn to ignore their words. You should not take internet seriously because a lot of people on the internet wouldn’t dare to say such mean stuff IRL. Anonymity allows them to do so, which is sad.
