That would be the politically correct term. The politically correct crowd doesn't like negative terms for people. After all they wouldn't want to pedophile shame them. And of course those same people will think it's OK to teach young school children that they can decide if they are pedophile or not. After all, some children are born pedophile, so they need to discover who they are inside. It's hard to believe that in 2022 there are still pedophobics out there. Why can't they just accept people for who they are? What we need are more pedophiles in children's cartoons and video games so that children will learn to accept them, and won't be as bigoted as the pedophobics.

Euphemisms are an abomination. But even if that weren't the case, no- I don't want that idea legitimized. I do, however, think we need to differentiate between "pedophile" and "child molester"; the latter is a form of, essentially, mental illness, and isn't chosen or desired. The latter is a form of crime, and rightly so. I do NOT favor demonizing people for things they can't change, ESPECIALLY if the social stigma keeps them from getting help that could *prevent* children from being sexually abused.

No because they are attracted to children who would not be attracted to them and the use of "minor-attracted persons" is an attempt to soften the public image of paedophiles. The term "minor-attracted persons" originated by Allyn Walker while working at Old Dominion University to try and make them acceptable to the LBGTQ+, the thing is that the vast majority of LBGTQ+ people find paedophiles abhorrent as straight people do.

Pedophiles are pedophiles. I’d understand a different title for pedophiles who understand the way they think is wrong, actively seek help, and never victimized a kid, but child molesters. child rapists, etc, need to be exterminated.

Pedophile also isn’t a catch all term for attraction to minors. Pedophile only refers to attraction to pre-pubescent minors. There’s other terms I don’t know off the top of my head. One for early teens, and one for older teens (16-19).

There is a small amount of nuance there, that being "pedophile" indicates sexual attraction toward minors whereas "minor attracted person" indicates attraction toward minors that is not necessarily sexual.
