I don't know if online dating is dead or not but I do have the feeling that it is alive and kicking.

I am personally not interested in dating but when I see what kind of money is involved in dating sites, I don't think that those people without scruples that own those dating sites are willing to give up on the income from desperate people so easily. They will do anything to motivate young people to continue using their sites.

Social media does a fantastic job at promoting those doubtful sites and people are so gullible nowadays that I don't think that the end of dating sites is near. All it takes is clever marketing strategies, lack of dignity and morals. When it comes to lack of those qualities, Mafia-like companies will always exist because humans are too stupid to realize that they are being played on.

Online dating is for suckers in my opinion. I won’t opine considering I agree with everything you said.

Patience is the best tool when it comes to dating. Trying to force something is not the way to go, which is what I see as online dating.

I believe that those using those sites believe that it is much easier to date online but at the end, when you meet the person (s) in real life, you are back to square one minus the "investment"...

Thank you! It was a very nice day. Mr B** and I took my parents and sister to a nice lunch. My sister is off to med school (locally) and it was nice to spend some time with her.

She can always practice the proper use of a tourniquet, how to correctly find a vein for the needle or how to correctly use a defibrillator on you. It's dead if the online contacts never lead to real life meetings.

Online dating is technology which allows you to radically increase the number of potential dates you can evaluate from your own geography. It removes the geographical limits of traditional dating.

But if you never move from online to real life, then it isn't dating, it's just chatting. Might be sexually explicit chatting, but it's nothing more.

To say it's dead is suggest it was ever alive. I think the problem with online dating is people have far to high of expectations. It isn't Amazon. You're not going to find just what you're looking for at your convenience. Treat each woman you meet with a grain of salt. And follow each one up with a shot of penicillin and you'll be fine.
