Very good chance. Some people have a muted sex drive or they need a strong platonic emotional closeness. If he falls in love with you, he will meet you halfway in terms of his love paradigm.

Just know that since he wants to be friends, that means he's testing you in that sense, you could fuck it up and not realize it, since he'll continue to be your friend.

Consider the movie The Village, or some other pre industrial society. Men and women were expected to marry and fall in love with someone in their community. There was no easy sex and an infinite sea of randos that you could perpetually search through and potentially postpone adulthood and marriage forever.

People had to fall in love and marry a friend, somebody that they knew in their community, and probably had some level of familiarity that goes back years.

Back then you could trust a woman to really be who she claimed to be, there were no hoes lying about their body count.

It's not a bad idea, the idea of choosing to fall in love with a friend. I did once, and it was a very strong love that I felt for her indeed.

I’ve matched with guys who I’m just friends with. Sometimes there is no romantic connection with someone but you can still get along on a friendship level. If you don’t have feelings for him then there’s no reason why a friendship can’t work out. What I don’t like is how he says there’s a possibility and then is slow to spend actual time with you in person. It seems like he might be stringing you along and keeping you as some back up while he looks around for other woman to date. Or he could just be afraid to risk the friendship. If you want to be more then tell him but if he doesn’t feel the same it may make things awkward. How long have you been talking to this guy? If it’s recent then give it time but if it’s been a long time then you might wanna talk to him about what you want.
