A guy I met online only said he doesn’t think he can have a romantic relationship with me but to continue be friends?

He first asked if we can meet and see where it goes and then weeks later he said this.. but we haven’t met in person it’s just messages and some pic. Recently we did a few video call.. Is it normal to decide this without meeting in person

During video call when I asked why he doesn’t think we can have a romantic relationship he says “ he doesn’t know why he said that “ and that “ it’s true people have to meet first “
but he also doesn’t message now unless I do first he replies right away.

I don’t know if I should still meet him.. I’m extremely sad he said that ! If we meet in person is there any chance things can change?
What do you guys think I should do?
I truly looked upon meeting this guy once I turned back home from this school - out of state course. 😟

It could be a number of things he could be just running game trying to get you to chase him or he just doesn't find you physically attractive. It's also possible he's talking to other women at this time and he's having more luck with these other women. If you seem desperate or clingy that's also a huge turn off.

We decided to meet tomorrow at a restaurant.. first time in person. Yes if it’s because he isn’t physically attractive can be a reason too :( I’m kinda chubby. He is very fit

We met today. He didn’t let me pay anything. He paid at the restaurant and for coffee later. He seemed like he was liking me but I’m not sure. He let me use his gloves.
When I came home he wasn’t messaging at all. So I send him a message and said “ I’m back home ~ thank you so much for today I really had a good time and I’m happy I met you “
He replied : “ Yeah, it was nice meeting you in person! I’m glad you enjoyed it” that’s all.. I don't know what to think. I have to See if he still contacts me. He said he doesn’t think he wants romantic relationship for me but good friends when we met online only. I don’t know if his mind can change today that we met

Start talking to other guys and see if it makes him jealous. Send a text to him that sounds like flirting, but make it sound like you are talking to another guy and you sent it to him by mistake. Then see his reaction
