For example, a college professor brought up statistics that showed that in a Western setting, an Asian male has to make 200k more than his white counterpart in order to be on equal footing when courting a white woman.

Similarly, many Indian women often will have more stringent requirement for black men, often requiring the black guy to be be above average in looks and have higher status and wealth than the typical Indian/white guy she would normally go for. This is often due to negative stereotype associated with blacks, Indian caste system which looks down upon darker skin tone, and many Indian parents being against interracial dating when it comes to black people.

This can be interpreted as saying said race is looked at as inferior and must compensate for their heritage in order to be given equal footing with another. It's not so different to how a less attractive person often has to put in more effort to win the affection of another person.
