Have you tried texting him or calling him? Just a simple "good morning", "good night" or "I miss you, hope you're okay" is enough to put the ball in his court & see what happens. If you haven't heard from him in a week, I'd say ask a close friend of his or a family member. But nothing more than "have you heard from 'john'?"

But I have a kid with my SO & we live together, so if he doesn't show up or call I know something's wrong. There's nothing he won't do to get back home to his son.

Not always. He might be going through some things mentally & doesn't think he can go to you & isn't realizing it's been several days. Or maybe a welfare check might be in order if you talk to the family or friends...

I’d be freaking out but i’d also feel played... he gets 48 hrs to respond. By day 3, im on to the next and just hoping he isn't in a ditch dead somewhere

Assume he’s dead or we’re over. The prideful part of me would want to ignore it and move on but the better part of me would want to investigate
