My boyfriend and I have been in a relationship for 1+ years. The past 2-3 weeks, I’ve noticed that he’s been more quiet. We haven’t had our goodnight calls, and he didn’t come by last weekend because he said he had family issues. I asked him why he was being quiet, he said his parents have been arguing a few days and that his mom has been crying. He’s also been struggling from his job.
I reassurances him and sent messages letting him know that I’m there for him and that he can talk to me. Last Sunday, he said he would call me, but he never did. When I tried calling him, my calls went straight to voicemail after a few rings. The following day, I sent multiple messages and tried calling several times again, but he didn’t pick up. After my shift, I got a message that he had to go to his grandma’s because she had a fall and was taken to the hospital, and that his mom had also been admitted for a panic attack. This week, I’ve checked in with him as much as I could. I tried calling and texting. He would reply once/twice a day, barely, but still wouldn’t answer any of my calls. The last message he sent was on Sunday, saying he had just gotten back from the hospital after being there all day and was exhausted. He said his grandma was stable, but that his mom was up and down. He mentioned he wasn’t sure when he’d be back home, that he kept asking his dad, but his dad wanted to stay since they had all come in his car. He ended the message saying he hoped I was okay. I’ve sent him more messages, being there for him but it’s now been two days and he hasn’t answered any of my texts or calls. I’ve called him almost 50 times today, and every call has gone straight to voicemail. I’ve messaged him on WhatsApp and iMessage—he’s read the iMessages, and I can see his last seen on WhatsApp. I called his work today, and they said he was in a meeting and to call back in 30mins. When I called again, a different lady answered and told me there’s no direct line to him and I should email.
