I like this guy, but I'm afraid that he might not like me anymore if he knew I still lived with my parents, what do I do?

I don't know what to do in this situation. I'm afraid that this guy won't like me anymore if he knew I lived with my parents. He has his own place and his own car. I really like him but I'm scared he won't like me anymore. Should I just stop talking to him? We've already met up twice and had I've been to his house and we've had sex.

So I have dated this type of women, on two separate occasions. She had a job, and she would work, but she lived with mom and dad. So when ever she got busy time would slip by and we would miss weekends together, and whenever I did have time during the week it was not like I could come over to her place. So it all became about when she had time to come to my place. And then both these women had dogs, and when she had to ask mom or dad to feed them when she was out, and then they would know she was staying at my place... so she would never sleep over because mom and dad would know she was fucking. I know for a fact at 42 one of them was just telling mom and dad that she was out with friends and would be home late... because she did not want them to know about me.

We had to always meet at neutral locations, because she didn't even want me to pick her up at home. Because mom and dad would get all into her business. This women was 42 years old and was like dating someone in highschool. But the sex was descent so starting out it was not that big of a deal but over time it was huge pain in the ass.

Yes I get it you save a lot of money living with mom and dad. So its smart economically, but it impacts your society life and relationships at some point. On some level both these women were embarrassed that they where living with mom at dad into their 40s.

Again in my case both these women I dated, moved back in with mom and dad because they had marriages or relationships that hurt them finically. And they were not honest or willing to share the details with me upfront from the start. One hide it and the other acted like it wasn't a big deal, but both never really talked about it or shared all the details.

So here you are not wanting to talk to him about it... but there is no way to continue the relationship without him finding out eventually. So I would say you absolutely need to tell him, be honest and open about it. Just don't mention it and not give him the real story and reasons, tell him everything. The two women I dated never did this, just little bits of information would trickle out over time and each time I would find out something more or something else they never told me and that would really piss me off. Because as a man I don't want to have a serious committed relationship with someone that lies by omission. Sometimes the things we don't say are more damaging then the the things we do say. So I would come out early and tell him everything and why and then see what he says or does about it. It honestly the only chance you have, because eventually everything will come out regardless and then he will be pissed that you never told him from the start, until the relationship progressed to a point that it really mattered because you could not hide it any longer. By then he is not sure if he can trust you.

Everyone has their deep dark secrets, but that's more or less because they burried it deep and made it dark themselves... best to bring everything out into the open and give this relationship a chance to succeed.

Yeah, I really don't see why it was a big issue with you. Why was it an issue with them just coming to your house? It seems like you made it a bigger issue than it actually is. If it were a serious relationship why didn't you eventually meet their parents? That's usually what happens.

It was big issue to me because they didn't always have or make the time to come to my place and I could never go to their place. Because every time they came to my place the would make up some excuse as to where they going because they didn't want their parent to know they were dating or staying over a a guys house. And they would never stay over they would come hang out an leave. Yes there was sex but I got weird because they wanted committed relationships but it didn't feel like a committed relationship.

It was big issue to me because they didn't even want their parent to know they were dating me and they never wanted or offered for me to meet their parents. It was big issue to me because they hide it from me for months without telling me, until I started feeling like something weird was going on. So by not telling me early and explaining there living situation to me they were not being 100% honest with me and that created trust issues for me.

Have you given him any reasons to question your living situation?
Since you had sex with him. Apparently there are some feelings developing. Don’t just break things off with him without giving him a chance to see if this bothers him.
Are you living with your parents to help take care of them?

I think my mother is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's.

Speaking only for myself, I don't care if she lives with parents or family. Housing is insanely expensive where I live, and many of my friends still live at home. I still do, or at least would if my grandparents had not both passed away and left me the house I grew up in.
