Should I answer his messages the next night like he is been doing to me?

I've been talking to a guy and lately he's been answering at night and when I answer he answers the next day at night and I answer and again he answers the next night , and in both times I see he keeps online even though I answered and he also sees my IG stories anyway , if he sees my IG stories wouldn't be a reminder to answer me? Then I thought maybe he is interested but the conversation got boring for him , he feels lazy to keep writing it. Well it's not the first time he does this to me , sometimes he gives a lot of attention like answering every minute and all of the sudden he stops doing that and answers the way I told u , there were two times that he made me wait like three days and I told him I didn't like that and he's been trying not to do it I guess. He is not my boyfriend , we don't want that in a few years , but still I'm very into him , but I try no to romantize him or think he is the one bc I don't really think he feels the same way and I prefer someone more attentive to my messages ,
I have three questions..
1.. what do you think of this guy and our thing?
2.. what should I do? Should I answer his messages the next day or what

Sounds like he waits until it's nighttime when he's at home and relaxing.

Since he is not your boyfriend, why are you being so insistent upon him answering you immediately? Seems like you're expecting too much from an online relationiship. Why don't you two meet in person? If it's impossible because of distance, then maybe you should be satisfied with what is and lower your expectations.

And how long should I wait to text him? I hate to be the one that answers immediately, well I wait minutes, sometimes hours but never a day , should I wait a day like him?

Doesn't it sound like he's not as interested in you as you are in him? If you aren't in the same city or state, you both have separate lives and are involved with other people. He answers you when he feels like it and he doesn't feel like it immediately or every day. Isn't this clear?

WHy aren't you seeking to get a friend or boyfriend where you live who WILL answer you quickly and who IS as interested in you as you are in him and who you can physically date regularly?

Well would u believe him? He said he was interested , he denied it when I said he had low interest so I kept talking to him and now he did that again and well this time it didn't bothered me much , I don't see him as someone special anymore so I shouldn't care right? Just enjoy what it is , anyhow I'm doing another guy now.

He is probably putting space between you two because you are an emotional train wreck. Do not text dissertations or emotionally bombard him. We will not deal with that and the first sign we are not is the one response a day. We like you but can't live with you. Shorter texts to him. You are halfway to Ghosted !!
