Guys, how do you respond to a text a recent hook up sends?

If a girl texts you after a hook up, do you always text back? If you text back do you ask about her life, new job, house, life events etc? Do you always text just being nice? Would you text back asking about her life if you didn’t want to see her again? If she reaches out asking how you are and you follow up with and answer and proceed to ask about something going on in her life, do you likely want to see her again or are you being polite and nice. Why do you text a girl back and ask her about her life if you are not interested in her?
