How do independent women find a girl?

I really don't have much of a social life and I suppose this is how most relationships occur is going out with friends and meeting each others friends etc or just being out at a bar or club and getting approached by someone. I suppose i'm just not good at coming up with things to say out of nowhere. I see women all around the gas station etc I just never know what to say.

Don't approach people randomly for the purpose of finding someone to date. That's the most important piece of advice.

To start, focus on improving yourself. Have a job of some sort. Have a passion of some sort. Be responsible. Shower with soap at least every other day. Wear somewhat nice clothes (doesn't need to be expensive, just no holes and no free t-shirts. Blue jeans are fine.). When

Stand up straight, don't look at the ground, keep a slight smile on your face all the time. Smile and nod at anyone you accidentally make contact with.

Once you do that, the rest is easy. Just keep your eyes out for people who need help when you're in public and offer to help them. If you see someone who is attractive, you can absolutely compliment them, but don't make it a big thing. Just walk up and say "hey, that's a cute dress" or whatever. Just be confident, and if you aren't, just do your best and fake it til you make it.
