How much of an age gap would you say is too much between an older man and very young woman?

Say a 27 year old man is dating a 19 year old woman for example.

5 years apart

10 years apart

15 years apart.

As along as both are legal and consent adults, age gap shouldn't matter much.

How is that question any different than taking a survey about whether or not gay or interracial marriage is ok?

Things like age, race, nationality, and sexual orientation are not choices. Except for what's dictated by law, only the people in the relationship can answer that question for themselves. And only their answer matters.

If they're down with what's up and they're happy together then to hell with what any of us thinks!

the gap itself doesn't really matter the older you get. i would say that around 30, the difference doesn't matter anymore. because like the difference in personal development becomes epxonentially smaller. like the difference between a 12 year old and a 14 year old is probably as big as the difference between a 30 year old and a 50 year old. so the size of the gap doesn't matter. the age of the younger person matters.

a better question to ask your self would be if you had a 19 year old daughter, would you be okay with her engaging in a sexual relationship with a 27 year old man? There is your answer.

They're both adults. I've seen a number of couples like that and even some where the guy was 19 and the woman was 27/28.

As I said, they're both adults. I might not like the guy, but the fact he's 27 wouldn't be a problem. When I was 27, I had a 21 year old girlfriend, which isn't too different than 19, and the sky didn't fall.

What exactly is the problem from your point of view? Wouldn't it be worse to have a parent micromanaging who their adult daughter dates?

Ah, so you want someone to play your irrelevant "gotcha" game- I won't. But ask yourself this, would your father have cared if you were having sex with a 27 year old guy when you were 19 instead of a 19 year old guy? If so, why would it have mattered to him? Does a guy automatically develop a bad character between ages 19 and 27 that makes him unacceptable as a boyfriend for a 19 year old? I don't think so.

If people are going to be that anal about a non-issue, I hate to see what they're like on other issues.
