Dating question. We started dating, I met his friends but a month before our first date he has been tagged to romantic photos with an other girl?

I have started dating that guy. I first met him 2 months ago. I liked him but I was in a relationship so I wasn't interested. I had realized that he like me also but he didn't make a move. I broke up with my ex a couple of days after and approximately a month ago he asked me for a date. At that moment I have already met his friends and his brother. We are beening like a couple in front of them but I didn't have him on social media. I added him today and in his tagged photos I saw that there are a couple of photos with a spesific girl. The last photo was about a month before we started dating. I realized that they had been in a relationship the last three years. I feel a bit weird. On the one hand I don't want to be paranoid and ask him immediately about that. I believe that I should wait and see. But isn't it weird that I met his friends if he is still with her? In a conversation that we had he said a joke about his ex. So I guess that he reffered to her as an ex. Is it possible to be in a long term relationship and just break up because he met me? This seems pretty impossible to me.

The relationship could have been over a long time ago, like he's really not into her anymore but went to a function or something and had the photo taken. Relax and enjoy the dude.
