Dad and boyfriend meeting?

So my dad is supposed to come into town sometime in the next month or so and his wife mentioned introducing them to each other. I told my boyfriend about him coming to town and stuff but I’m not confident because he’s a very formal and analytical person. My boyfriend doesn’t mistreat me or anything but it’s the first guy I’m dating that my dad will meet. He’s talked to him on the phone once but I’m honestly kinda nervous about it. I know it’s a while away from now so any experience with meeting a partner’s parent (s) or guardian (s)?

Tell your boyfriend about your dad and his interests, so he'll know what subjects your dad might be interested in hearing about. I'm not sure whether your dad or your boyfriend is formal and analytical, but hopefully the other one won't choose to push buttons.

The thing is I don’t know anything my dad is interested in really. He’s not really around often enough for me to know him.

Contact his wife and ask her. Let her know you want the visit to be as comfortable for all as possible, and your dad just hasn't been around enough for you to learn this information.
