What does it mean when he follows me on instagram 3 days after our 1st date but he doesn't text me?

Could be one of two scenarios:
1) He likes you but he’s playing hard to get. He wants to see if you’ll take the initiative to text him. Most likely a guy that loves to use mind games to get his way.


2) He’s not interested in a serious relationship but would like for you to be normal platonic friends.

Thank you! I do... I texted the next day saying I had a good time... he said he had a good time "hanging out" and then 2 days later he added me on social media. We talked for like 1 week and normally, he'd send a text to me the next day, but he didn't. I figured the date didn't go well or I didn't look as good in person. I just dont see why he'd play hard to get if I already texted him after the date - And if he wanted to be friends, I still dont know why he couldnt text me... advice please?

If he initated the first date and is unsure of how it went on your end, he's aaiting to see if you'll reach out. Otherwise he'll assume it went badly and move on.
