Girls, What makes a guy non-friend zone material and someone you would consider dating?

First things first. I hate the term "friend-zone". It’s horrible. From the girl’s perspective, a guy that they have a strong platonic bond with has been lurking this entire time. He has been waiting for the perfect opportunity to have sex with you. He was never your friend in the first place. If you get friend-zoned, it’s your fault. You approached a woman without making your intentions clear and inadvertently deceived her into thinking you two are on the same relationship level.

If you don’t want to be friend-zoned, don’t approach her as a potential friend. Show her you are attracted in her and interested in her romantically. She might reject you-fine. At least this way you both know where you stand. It is literally as simple as that.

Secondly, the last part of your question is incredibly subjective. The best advice I can give you is to strengthen yourself and not to cater your identity for other people’s acceptance. A confident man is much more attractive than a man who is a chameleon.

You do know girls and women aren’t straight forward and show mixed signals as well. And you can be that blunt with your emotions if say you are approaching a female in the work place, especially if she is getting over someone. I have read articles and even answers on here by females saying, I prefer being friends with the guy first.

No Asker, you don't approach a "female" in the workplace. Don't do that.
You should always be honest, or you will come across as a creep. I don’t know what articles you have read or people you have spoken with. Sure, women might prefer to begin as friends with a man, if they know what his end goal is. There is nothing wrong with men and women being friends. If you want to date her, tell her upfront. If not, you look like a predator lying in wait to swoop in. It’s frankly gross.

I can't really explain it. The first time I met my boyfriend, I just liked him immediately.

We were scheduled for a dinner meal at a restaurant by a match-making agency. We have never met each other before, only knew each other briefly through a short profile intro sent to us by the agency.

He was polite and nervous. It was so obvious that he was so awkward but still trying to be nice, that I find him very endearing and cute.

We do share some common interests such as video gaming and comics. He was impressed by some of my solo trips and experiences. And it was just a very pleasant meal, we talked a lot on many things and continued to meet for dates after that. It was mutual, we made each other laugh constantly.

And now, we are very much in love. I guess when you met the one you liked, you just do.

For me personally, if I can respect him as a man, and who can protect me.

He has to have respectable character. I prefer very moral individuals, personally. His character needs to challenge mine. He needs to inspire me to be my best self. Someone I can look up to.

If he'd stand up for me in social settings, or physically confront someone who is attacking me.

I call my husband big brother because I look up to him so much, but don't rely on him emotionally so much to call him daddy. Anytime I've called a guy daddy, it's been unhealthy and unstable. My husband and I are really healthy and really stable.
