Do guys really care about banter?

So there’s this dating coach who says women must banter with men in order to build emotional connection from a guy etc.

im all for having fun, light teasing, etc, but I don’t want to take it too far if that makes sense. Do guys really care about that, or more if you’re just genuinely interested in them?

When you are a good friend of somebody's and you can go back and forth being smart asses taking it further but not going crazy with it it can be hella fun and it kind of allows you to see who that person is a person that can laugh at themselves is 10 times more fun the person that cannot take a joke or even think about laughing at themselves

Yeah I make fun of myself all the time! And love joking around, I just never want to be rude lol

Yes I have dark humor and I like to spend words to make people think but I have a couple friends that when I get on one they just laugh their asses off and they keep saying you are so stupid as they're laughing their butts they can't say anything else you're so stupid I love it you're right I it's all in good humor it's all in fun and games there's no reason to be rude about anything see you would be a good person to hang out with

Fun and light teasing is awesome. Banter to me means meaningless chit chat. Just bullshit talking. I don't mind having a conversation but I don't want to talk about the weather or what I think about the stock market

Yeah I get that! Those are maybe nice to start with but the convo should go deeper eventually

I wouldn't worry about banter. Don't worry about what some dating coach says. Anyone can call themselves a dating coach. Just be yourself and you will do fine.

Thank you!!! Yeah all these “ must dos” are stressful. I had a great 20-30 minute convo with a guy after class last night and instead of looking back and just being happy, I’m in my head wondering if I did enough. Lol 😆

Makes sense. He used to be very shy around me but opened up. I mean we joke a lot in general, I just don’t want to take it too far and end up being offensive if that makes sense
