I don't know if my friend is being dumb or not. Is she doing the right thing?

T. W : mention of ED

My friend, call her Jane, wasdating a guy, call him Mike, for a year, until they split apart last year, cause her mental health was deteriorating because of her eat! ng disorder. She suppresses her feelings and never lets anybody know what is going on until last year when she hit rock bottom and chucked the love of her life because she tried to "protect him from any damage".

Might look like an excuse for a breakup, but she was a bit mentally stressed cause of her toxic family.

None of them really moved on from each other. Mike's world fell apart cause she meant a lot to him. I am a mutual so, Mike spent his days crying over her. However, he is doing better than before, touch wood. He has been hooking up with girls but never committed to them cause he still loves Jane.

I got to know recently that they're both back in terms, and have said the three words to each other on call, and are planning to meet. He also said he is going to stop fooling around with other women if Jane meets him.

Is she doing the right thing or am I just paranoid?
