Is my friend overreacting?

So last week I said I would call my friend this week to catch up. We barely talk on the phone these days. I forgot though as I'm working full-time and it's now Friday and I didn't ring her. She's sent me a text saying she's annoyed "that we haven't met up in 5 months and she feels I've been distancing myself" just because I didn't call. Yeah we haven't seen each other in months, but that's not my problem. She's at uni and I'm working so we're in different cities, and when she comes back home, she's often busy. Is she overreacting when she said she's annoyed I didn't call?

It depends. If you HAVE been distancing yourself, as you said, you haven't seen each other in months, then she has a right to ask you what's up. If you've been fine with each other, then she might be overreacting.
