Do girls have unrealistic standards online?

I've gone on so many dates over the years with girls i've met on dating sites and never get past the second date. I'd say usually the dates go well and I always hear back from them, we have good conversation and pretty often I get a kiss. I see all these other guys with girlfriends and I've just always thought it was odd that I never seem to find one that sticks around. Honestly, none of them even give it a chance. How do you write a guy off after a date or two? I have accurate pics. You have to put in a little time with the guy and vise versa.

With online dating I think more than anything it gives people the ability to be pickier than with meeting someone traditionally. Depending on where you live and how many individuals are using that exact same app (there’s so many options out there now) you’re either going to have many options or hardly any.


If you’re somewhere more rural then I believe the women are more flexible since there’s fewer options. But in more congested areas and a plethora of options, she will find a guy who aligns best with what she seeks. But even if you take all that into consideration, you just may not be having luck with women. Who knows why, it could be that she clicked with someone else better online, or just didn’t ultimately feel a spark with you.

That's what the always seem to say. I just didn't feel a spark. Not sure what i'm supposed to be doing to create a spark. We have good conversation their is only so much you can do on a first date.

Honestly I doubt you specifically are doing anything wrong, something just isn’t clicking for them. Depending on your personality or how you interact not even just on dates but communicating in-between, it may just take the right woman to mesh with and you haven’t met her yet. Don’t be discouraged, some people have it easier while dating than others.

Not really. There may be thousands of men on line, but 80% of women are fighting over a handful of men. When you enter your requirements, minimum height 6’ 2”, 97th percentile, $200,000 minimum income, also 97th percentile, you consider maybe 10% of men to be good looking, and want them musclebound, less than one out of 10,000 men will meet your standards.

Some requirements are mutually exclusive. No men over 30 eliminates most of the men making over $200,000.

@mikeinhawaii yes, really. I’d rather not get into your interpretation of how the dating scene works, and speak on what I do know for a literal fact, which is that you can’t umbrella everybody’s dating experience, because it’s not that cut and dry. The actual truth is that not everyone is going to be lucky with dating online. Just the other day there was an anonymous male on here asking what he’s doing wrong with online dating, giving a description of what he’s bringing to the table (above 6ft, dark hair, striking green eyes, complimented often on his good looks, makes great money, stylish, etc), and still can’t make it past a first date if one even happens at all. On paper he seems like quite the catch, yet he was on here feeling defeated and confused about his situation. Nobody is immediately guaranteed a match even if they fit into that “handful of men”. It’s a luck of the draw.

If there wasn't something either abnormal or subpar about them, they wouldn't be on a dating site to begin with.

Yeah i've thought about that. Girls get hit on just going out into the world. Guys not so much, they have to do the work. So it's kind of a red flag if they're on a dating site.
