My Boyfriend Loves To Put Me Off. Please help?

My boyfriend and have been dating for about 2 months and we had a date planned for an entire week for a fancy restaurant. I'd been looking forward to it for so so long and then he texted me, "extended family coming over this weekend. Date's off." I was confused at first and I was like so? So he texts me "don't get all mad they want to spend time with me on the week" which MADE me mad. We'd been planning this date an entire WEEK and then something last minute swoops in and destroys it? And he just says cope? What the fuck? Please I need advice...

Well for one, how long is the family visiting? If it’s for the week then yeah, I’d be bummed he couldn’t spare one night especially if it was previously planned. But that is not what’s most upsetting, it was his way of canceling the plans so dismissively without an apology or suggesting a reschedule. To me, that says a lot about his character, and how he is going to treat you going forward. It’s only two months in and tbh this is about the point where the honeymoon phase ends and you start seeing their real colors because he doesn’t have that’d fake mask on of trying to impress you. So if these are his true colors, then they don’t look good.

Tbh this isn't the first time I've had problems with him... Or the second... It's just been the biggest "what the fuck" there's been the time he ignored me for 3 days cuz he got a little hot at work. Or the time he wanted 2 week break because he thought our relationship had too much sex that.. He initiated... Stuff like that

Being completely honest, if you had a close friend or loved one going through this, what would you advise them? Would you say to stick it out and maybe his behavior will get better? If they said it’s complicated or they love him too much to leave, what would you say then? I think sometimes we have to love ourselves as much as we love those around us and take the same advise we’d urge them to take. I don't know how many more times you need for him to do something bad, but it sounds like he’s done enough to walk away and find someone better. Especially if you know you deserve it.

Sure I always call off dates with extended family coming over that I never talk to. How about he introduces you to the so called "extended family".

He needs to man up. Things do come up in the middle of plans and he needs to stick to that plan. What could possibly be that important from extended family?

Extended family coming is not an unplanned thing. He would've planned them coming over at least a week before, he could have postponed it or told you way before. I've made excuses to get out of dates before, and not saying he is lying, family coming over is a common excuse.
