Even if she is only average looking it is sex without any attachment or commitment and it can be absolutely fun and amazing. This is when you get to try to do all the things you want to do with a women without worrying about insulting her or ruining the relationships. You get to cut loose and try new things, and explore all the those things the you may not of felt right about trying before.

It a nice way of saying I want to fuck and that is about it. So you get to have uninhibited sex with a women, and still seek out and date other women and when you find a good one you break off with her. Or if its a solid friends with benefits relationships then you might be able to keep it going on the side... all depends if you trust her that much.

Thing is that if you fuck and you really like it you got to resist coming back around too much or too often because then start to back slide into a relationship or start catching feelings. So try not to do it more then once a week or every two weeks... if gap it out these things tend to go on longer before burning out.
