Dating while separated?

A guy asked me out, and our first date he told me that he was still married, but separated. He and his wife live in separate houses but they're not sure of getting a divorce. I felt like I was basically a filler, that he'll toss once he decides to go back to his wife. Do you think it's fair/okay to date someone when you're separated but not sure about divorce yet? And what would you do if you were in my position?

It’s probably best to wait till it’s all finalized as far as a divorce. You don’t want to be labeled as the reason why they divorced. Besides he’s not even sure if they will divorce or not so why wait around to find out your just leftovers. You need to let it go. Technically he’s still married, so if you slept w him it would be considered cheating. The marriage license doesn’t allow for breaks in marriages to be able to sleep w other people, especially if you’re very religious and believe in the sanctity of marriage.

I've been separated for 6 years and we've definitely moved on from each other. We honestly don't even want to deal with each other to get a divorce. So for me it's fine to date and do whatever.

I guess the best thing to ask your guy is if he plans on going back to his ex or what? Everyone's situation is different.

Leave him alone. The red flag to me is where he was unsure about divorce and you are totally correct on him using you as a filler. It’s one thing to be separated and know you no longer want the marriage, it’s another to use women as a rebound because you can’t handle being alone
