Sending I miss you?

I have been on a few dates with this guy. They’ve all gone well. He texts me daily good morning and good night and calls me pet names, holds my hand in public and the car, drives far to see me, etc. He is in the navy and today he left for a week of training and can’t have his phone. The night before he left he said “goodnight baby I miss you and want to hang out with you when I get back”. I responded to that (basically that I missed him to and want to see him too) which he saw, and am wondering if I should send him a message for him to see when he gets back and if so, what?
