How would a guy feel if he saw someone from a dating app at his company workplace?

I used two dating apps last year and liked this guy to try and match with him on both apps. He was my type and went to my college but he would not match with me. I deleted one of my apps to try matching with him again but he still didn't match with me. It was a very embarassing moment and quit dating apps. Now, i just found out the company i am joining for a new job.

I know for a fact he recognizes me because our college is small and we are in similar fields. I really regret being creepy and trying to match with him.

How would a guy feel about this? Would he try to avoid me or think i’m weird? I also don’t know how to approach this situation except act like I don’t know him.

It’s slightly embarrassing but there are lot worse ways you could of been “creepy”.

Most men don’t waste their time trash talking, gossiping and fretting about “creepy” women the same way many women do. Hell some of us had to deal with truly creepy/stalkerish women at some point in our lives but unless our lives were threatened it’s not something we lose sleep over.

Anyway he probably forgot about it in the next day. I get the embarrassment but given it’s digital he blew it off fast.

A few months ago asked at out a younger woman I knew at my local CF gym. I was careful to chat her up several times before I took the dive and asked her to get breakfast. She smiled and told me she had a boyfriend. I said I understood and wouldn’t ask again.

But now I have to run into her occasionally. One time only she showed up to a class. It was her, me and the instructor. It was awkward but I got through with it.

I also remember her wanting to chat me up the next time I saw her after she turned me down. I made small talk but didn’t engage. While I don’t want things being awkward I also don’t want her thinking I am okay with the friéndzone (sure as hell am not).

I also starting to believe she lied about having a boyfriend. She talks her life a lot with other members at the gym but she had never once mentioned him.

On one end I get her intention to lie of giving me a much less painful rejection for a legit reason (she’s taken). But on other end it’s a bit depressing she wasn’t interested in me at all. But it’s how it is.

^^^ point I am trying to make above is I was paranoid about being “creepy” with that girl. I was much older (in good shape and got all my hair) but we she gave me good vibes when we chatted earlier. When she turned me down she smiled and didn’t give me negative vibes when I saw her again. But also didn’t want to keep chatting her up thinking I am okay with the friéndzone.

My recommendation, be a grown up about it. We are adults. We all need partners in our lives (unfortunately, evolution sucks). So, you thought on paper you two would be good. Its no big deal. He might not have felt the same.

If he is a mature dude, he will feel the same. And most probably there won't be any awkwardness, unless you yourself create it.

Otherwise, life is too short anyways. He is probably busy with his life. So you should be busy with yours as well. Keeping things civil because you guys work together is best.

Now you have the chance to approach him in real life. Try to talk to him to get to know him and show interest.

I've seen sevral girls I kinda know, on tinder. I have swiped right on some, one of them were an old fling but didn't match. I even wrote something to her on Facebook or if it was Instagram as well, since she har been in a relationship for a long time and would've been fun to reconnect. She kinda ignored me so that's it and I guess that's a bit embarrassing.

Eh. Not much personally other then think. I recognize this person, if I was not soliciting a date from her. If I was trying to get a date or we were talking over the dating app. Then I would probably talk to her.


But I don’t use dating apps. It’s a hypothetical question so I don’t know what I would do. Also… If depends on the guy.

It would be neat to see a profile for the girls i work with. But otyer that maybe learning a few thing about them. That as far as th8s goes. If you feel to at some point you could tell him you had a crush on him but you don’t need to use words it’s all in the eyes and the vibe you give off.
