Guys, what's the best lie that you've told?

So, I was in a relationship with a great girl who lived with me- the only problem was that the sex life sucked (she couldn't get wet easily, and were down to sex once a month). So, I started cheating on her, and had another girl over at the house on a day that she wasn't suppose to be back until after 9pm. So, I'm upstairs in bed with this girl, and I hear the front door crack open... SHIIIIIII. There's no way to get this other girl out, not to mention her stuff is downstairs (purse and coat) and her car is in the driveway. So, I ended running down (dressed) telling my girlfriend at the time that a couple from church had come over to pray over me, and they had freaked out, the wife had passed out, and they were both upstairs resting; so, we had to get out of there because it was a really uncomfortable situation.

My girlfriend actually believed me, and we left the house together while I texted the other girl to leave (made up an excuse of a family emergency). And this actually worked for a couple weeks until my (now ex) girlfriend asked the couple about it at church...

One of the biggest regrets of my life, and an unbelievably stupid lie.

I don't think it was good though, but at the time... back then, that's how I wanted it, I was just a kid and did not want any attention on me, especially out of problems of this kind... since I was painfully shy as well

One time when I was a kid I got really drunk and went to bed. I got the spinneys and puked on the floor and passed out. In the morning my mother came in my room to tell me she was going to work. She saw the puke on the floor and she asked me what it was. I blamed it on the cat and she bought it.

To me, a lie is not about it remaining undiscovered, but to get what I want.
