How do you discern “Love” from a “Crush”?

Just watched a video on a stalker who finally killed the girl he thought he was in love with.

crush is not only, somewhat obsessive,

but it’s usually paired with feelings of “not being good enough” for them.

They can overwhelm us, and we get butterflies or feel “uneasy.”

We don’t want to trip or look bad.

Love is more like an addiction..

It’s similar to when cats release these pheromones in their waste/ pewp lol

that can lure mice, or even cause their owners to love them more so

love is this kind of brain disorder where we think we need them sometimes.

Now, if it’s a healthy *enjoyment,* and living to together by choice- that’s love by choice, and not necessity. That to me, would be true love.

Those are the differences in my opinion;

and when you enjoy someone very much and care for their well being- you’re not selfish, and murder would never result from it. You usually care about their welfare/ have their best interest in mind.

Crushing and being obsessive, and not feeling good enough- I don’t think could resort/result in murder, either.

That killer had a personality/ emotional/ mental disorder

something in his past was left unhealed/untreated, and he developed an unhealthy ideology, and when that ideology met that person he was fond of, and was rejected by, he opted to murder. He may have regretted it or not, but definitely saw that as the only logical outcome… unless of course, driven by confused and complex emotions, that he could not cope with- resulted in his *impulsive* choice, and *NOT premeditated* murder.

Being in "love" isn't really the same as having a "crush" on someone. Crushes are usually temporary and can be over before we even know it, or sometimes can even last months on end, but almost always result to nothing in the end. It's just your brain finding a particular person really attractive that you can't stop thinking about them for a while. It's an innocent, child-like infatuation you get for someone and doesn't usually result to anything other than that. That's all there is to it.

As for love, now that right there is a whole different ballpark. Love isn't something that happens overnight, either. A relationship needs to be formed prior for the love to occur, and then, and only then, after you've both bonded a bit and grown to know each other more and more, you end up liking and appreciating a few more things about them. Even things which others may be repulsed by or find annoying about them. It's when you feel butterflies when you think about them and your stomach starts doing flips when you see them walk into the room, look at you and smile. THAT'S what love is.

I don't think that if you were really in love with someone that you would kill them. A crush is more of just a liking to someone. Crushes come and go sometimes you might have more crush then one.

But being in love is not like that. A crush you kind of don't really know anything about them and maybe infatuation and that is a third thing. Most of the time it goes from a crush, to infatuation, and then finally into love.

You might loose interest in a crush easily and move on to another person. But with that you are more just fantasizing and possibly making someone out to be someone that they aren't.

Love is when you see a person for who they are. You see their best and their worst and you still love them. They change you for the better. You change them for the better.

to me, it is somewhat simple...

love is about two people... if two people feel the same way about each other, that's love

if you're just fascinated with someone who might not even know who you are, then that's just a crush
