I've only been talking to this guy I met on a dating app for 12 days but it feels like I've known him forever. Our conversations are so great and I feel myself falling deeper in like with him each and everyday.
I just want to know that this is the real deal and not infatuation. I feel like with me getting to know him on a deep level that it's not infatuation but I know falling for someone quickly can be seen as such.
I also know that meeting in person will really seal the deal on whether we are really compatible but I just feel we are based on our conversations alone.
How do you know it's love or a strong like and not infatuation?

First of all you have to remember where you just went through take a couple steps back shake it off and let it just happen if it's meant to be it will be if you start dreaming forcing pushing your way into it because you want it so bad you're going to end up with a broken heart again

Here's what I'd do. I'd simply do what's called "defining the relationship". Agree to continue seeing each other exclusively for a little while longer, but don't call it "boyfriend/girlfriend" yet. And have this conversation with him, assuming you haven't already. But wait until after you've met in person a few times. I'd had those feelings of disappointment in the past when I'd built up an image of that particular woman in my mind, but then gone on a date and came away not feeling super awesome about it.
And I'd strongly caution you to keep sex out of the picture. I'm a believer in waiting until marriage, and it is primarily for religious reasons. However, a key reason outside of that is that it can cover up red flags, or rather cause you to overlook them. It can taint how you view that person and the relationship, especially earlier on.

Calm down lol its most likely infatuation because I have been in the same situation as you.. I know now how to control myself and my feeling better and not to fall so easily especially for guys through the phone since most guys can talk to you everyday and not feel shit for you. Be careful!

Nothing wrong with falling deeply "IN LIKE" with someone after good talks, but 12 days isn't long enough to find out everything you need to know about someone. Give it six months of hanging out and dating. IN PERSON.

To me, it looks like infatuation is a sort of boogeyman concept for people, especially English speakers, possibly cultural. Love is love, in my opinion, if it is ephemeral then it will be, I don't see any good in trying to control feelings. The one thing I would examine, in your position, are my expectations, not my feelings.
Hey it started that way with me. I have been with my guy for five years now. It marinated, evened out, and is much stronger as a result. Nobody can continue the intensity of what you feel in the beginning. It certainly lets you know there is hope though.
If I cry when he’s gone. If it feels happy when I’m with him. If he seems safe to be around. If he gives me real peace. If he keeps me healthy. If he is deeply missed and not feared. If not giving him my best makes me feel guilty. I haven’t found him yet.
Sometimes you can't/ In your frame of reference you might feel like you re in love but to the world around you it just seems like fling. I know this does not make sense but it is often true.
Love isn't an exciting feeling. You love your family, and it feels like that. Infatuation doesn't last long, it's just the beginning and it's not supposed to last forever.
U can't tell from only 12 days, lots of factors have to meet together to form love and u wouldn't be able to meet them in 12 days because TIME is one of them 👍🏻

You don't... ever! You just make a decision based on all the good intel. you have. And you hope you didn't make foolish decision. You hope that a year or 50 from now you didn't make a collossally bad one.
Don't rush things out... You have to know if what you're living and feeling is real, plus you have to know if your other half is really the person whom he claims to be and not just acting to steal your heart and make you fall for him blindly...
